I’m proud to be part of the first all-female celebrity challenge line-up for Comic Relief’s coldest ever challenge!
Alongside Alex Scott, Laura Whitmore and fellow northerner, Vicky Pattison I’m headed to the arctic wilderness to raise life changing funds for Red Nose Day.
We’re off on the challenge of a lifetime, starting 1,300 miles aware on the edge of the Arctic Circle in Tromso, Norway.
We’ll be trekking, cycling and cross-country ski-ing across the Arctic over four days. With snowstorms, hidden frozen lakes and temperatures plunging to as low as -20, it’s going to be a real test of endurance.
I’m so excited (and more than a little bit nervous!) but also so happy to be surrounded by such an awesome team of resilient, strong and fabulous women.
I’ve never skied before and I know this challenge is going to push me to my limits – but it’ll be worth every frozen second.
Comic Relief is something we watch and support as a family every year. I know I’m in a privileged position where I can do my bit to help raise funds. So this year, that’s exactly what I’m doing.
Every snowy step of our journey will be filmed for a special BBC One and iPlayer documentary which will air in the run up to Red Nose Day on Friday, 15th March.
The money raised will go to tackle poverty, provide food, essential healthcare or safe shelter for people in the UK and around the world.
