Craft Book

Craft Your Year

Writing Craft Your Year was a bit of a dream come true for me, it was also a real labour of love!

I’m passionate about the benefits of getting creative and was really keen to share my tips and tricks and hopefully encourage more people to discover the joys of crafting.

Crafting can have a really positive impact on mental health and wellbeing. Putting your hands to work and immersing yourself in the process of making is a really effective way to unwind and feel calm. And making and finishing something yourself creates a real sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

I really wanted to make Craft Your Year accessible and fun. So, we created more than 70 craft  projects and split them into seasons – that way you can dip into the book for an idea whenever you fancy making something.

You don’t need to go out and buy lots of expensive equipment. I’m all for making use of what you already have around the house – and that’s exactly what you’ll find in Craft Your Year!

And, you don’t need to be an expert either. Each project, whether it’s macramé, lip balm, or a handmade card, has easy-to-follow instructions with images and handy hints to guide you every step of the way. So, if you’re a total beginner it’s a great way to build confidence and try something new with no pressure.

I wanted to offer inspiration to start crafting all-year-round, so from birthday gifts and spring décor to handmade autumn and Christmas decorations – we’ve got you covered.

Flip through, find something that inspires you and have a go!

Autobiography

We Can All Make It

Often when I’ve been speaking at an event or a seminar, or just chatting to people – there’s an assumption that there’s a secret formula, or some kind of ‘in’ that you need to succeed in business.

And while it might sound a bit more interesting if I had some grand relative somewhere who helped me out, it didn’t happen like that. I had an ordinary childhood, and went to an ordinary school. Where I am today is down to the choices I’ve made, the example my parents set for me and their belief in me.

I worked really hard to take the little opportunities and turn them into bigger ones. I spoke out when I wanted to try something, asked for help when I needed it and never hesitated to learn more.

Essentially my success comes from having big ambitions and setting my mind to achieving them.

And if I can do it, then so can you.

When people realise that, I’ve found that it’s empowering.

So I decided to share my story, hoping to inspire others to go out and follow their dreams.

We Can Make it All chronicles it all. From the very beginning, launching a business from my university bedroom to joining Dragons’ Den. From the buzz of witnessing our product sell out for the first time to broadcasting to 96 million American homes.

I’ve shared what I’ve learned from juggling the demands of running a global business and being a mam. And of course, the amazing experience that was Strictly Come Dancing!

It’s such a privilege to share my story with you with We Can All Make It and to see it become a Sunday Times Bestseller as well!
