Snow Going Back: Comic Relief vs The Arctic captures every grueling step of Sara Davies, Vicky Pattison, Alex Scott and Laura Whitmore’s extraordinary trek across the Arctic Circle, in a bid to raise life changing money for Red Nose Day.

Airing on BBC One and iPlayer on Monday 11 March at 9pm, the special documentary, filmed by Shine TV, will see the foursome embark on Comic Relief’s coldest ever challenge over 1,300  miles from home where the British Special Forces train.

Viewers will see the team battle unpredictable and disorientating conditions, as they attempt to trek, cross country ski and fat-bike over four long days in their bid to reach the finish line with only eight hours of daylight each day and a constant  threat of snowstorms.

Audiences will see Sara, Vicky, Alex and Laura are stopped in their tracks as they cross a frozen lake while battling to get to their next stop before dark. The foursome hear the ice crack beneath their feet as a wave of fear ripples through the group.

The documentary also gives an up close and personal look at how the celebrities spent their evenings struggling against bleak conditions, cooking on camping stoves and sleeping in tents and moss huts with no running water, heating or electricity, all in an attempt to raise life-changing funds for Comic Relief.

Sara said: “I definitely underestimated how difficult it was going to be. We had to dig deep, the physical demands of dragging your kit and yourself across the Arctic really took its toll, the lows were really low, but the highs were very high.

“It was so hard out there but nothing compared to what people in the UK and around the world are going through and knowing that what we have done will hopefully raise some vital funds to help people means so much.”

This Red Nose Day, money raised will help put food on plates and roofs over heads, keep little ones safe and help support families affected by conflict and climate change. It’s never felt more important to come together to support people in the UK and around the world who are struggling.
