So I was honoured to be asked to be Prima’s December cover star! Unsurprisingly, their December issue is their biggest-selling issue of the year because it covers all things Christmas and they really went all out for the photoshoot – it was definitely the most glamorous thing that I’ve done and I was so pleased with the results, especially as I’m feeling the best I’ve ever felt in myself.
To support the front cover, I did a big interview with Chrissie, their entertainment editor and we talked all about my health and how I’ve really been trying to tone up and lose weight this past year. I’ve always struggled with yo-yo dieting but I’ve tried to get into shape for things I’ve been doing, such as the Arctic trek that I did last year and then the Great North Run this September. There’s no way that I would have been able to do those things if I wasn’t in good shape and being a smaller dress size really doesn’t bother me but the health side of things absolutely does!
I also talked about my upbringing in an entrepreneurial family and how that shaped my own career and family values today. My husband Simon is always the one who keeps my feet firmly on the ground, we honestly couldn’t be any more different but I think that’s why our relationship works so well both professionally and on a personal level as well (I have been with him since I was 15 years old!).
And then of course, we chatted through all things Dragons’ Den and my friendship with Deborah and how she’s mentored me as well as some Strictly gossip and the latest with my wonderful friends Aljaz and Janette.
I’ve been working with Prima for years now as a craft columnist so we went all out for the December issue and I’ve created seven gorgeous projects with step-by-step instructions to get you well and truly prepared, inspired and excited for the festive season.
Well, I don’t want to give any more away, the issue is on sale now and it’s out until the 3rd December so go and grab a copy and I hope you enjoy!
