So I was in London yesterday because I’d been invited to lead a panel discussion at UK Construction Week – and I don’t often accept invitations to get involved when it’s not ‘my industry’ or something I feel is my area of expertise. But when I was invited along, it sounded so exciting it wasn’t something I felt I could say no to!
The event organisers were running a ‘Dragons’ Den style panel’. They had five amazing entrepreneurs, leading the charge re: innovation in the industry, come onto the main stage in the middle of the convention and pitch their business to a panel consisting of me, investors and business leaders from the industry.
Honestly, I was blown away by their pitches! Real true innovation which was hugely customer-centric and had sustainability at the heart of each concept. I came away feeling inspired and excited about the future of the industry!
I was also asked to speak about my own entrepreneurial journey, experiences and life lessons learnt along the way, and I really hope some of what I spoke about hit a chord with some of the attendees!
So thank you UK Construction Week for inviting me along to be a part of your event yesterday!
