Sara Davies is the queen of crafting – and known for her gorgeous craft ideas, as well as her appearances on TV in shows such as The Ultimate Wedding Planner and Dragons’ Den.
And now Prima columnist Sara has written a new book full of crafting inspiration. Craft Your Year with Sara Davies takes readers through the year in beautiful craft projects suitable for all experience levels, from a macrame wall hanging for the summer to brilliant Christmas decoration ideas.
We sat down with Sara ahead of the release of her book to chat all things craft, from her favourite project to the must-haves in her craft stash – and why she embraces mistakes as part of the thrill of crafting.
Tell us about your new book!
“I think of craft like cooking – sometimes you want to get out a book and follow the instructions from beginning to end.
“I’m on Instagram or social media all the time, and I think what’s so nice about crafting is it’s not screen time. That’s how you get the mindfulness aspect of crafting.
“Videos are great for inspiration, but sometimes written instructions are really helpful. For some of the easy projects, we’ve just got the instructions, and then we’ve mixed that with step-by-step photos for the more advanced projects.”
