Today we’re going behind the lens to get to know Mark and Pete, two amazing camera operators on Dragons’ Den.
I’ve really enjoyed shining a light on the amazing crew who work tirelessly to make Dragons the hit show it is.
And there are actually lots of crew working on cameras, however we don’t see most of them on set because the cameras are mostly hidden in the brickwork, on the walls and in light sockets – all over!
But, Mark and Pete operate the big close up cameras right in front of me and Touker Suleyman – those really really close-up shots.
I love these guys. They’ve always got my back, signalling to me from behind the camera if my hair goes out of place or I’ve got a bit of food on my cheek after sampling something.
And they’ve been looking after me since my first series, five years ago!
My mam’s always said to me that they get such lovely shots of me and I ‘need to keep in with the camera guys.’ And I’ve learnt the way to do that is through their stomachs. So on a weekend I usually bake scones or brownies and distribute them amongst the crew, they always go down a storm!
We’ve become great friends over the years. I was on their quiz team at the wrap-party last summer, not that I was an awful lot of use but we did have a laugh!
So now, when you’re watching the latest episode or catching up on this week’s you know who’s responsible for that amazing camera work!
