Providing vital hospital and community services to a population of over 650,000, the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is a charity very close to my heart.
I took part in the Great North Run in 2023 to raise funds for the trust. I was so pleased to be able to combine my love of running with providing much-needed support for our NHS Charity in its 75th year.
I was fundraising to help transform an outdoor space where patients recovering after critical illness (RaCI) can undergo rehabilitation, following what can be many weeks or months of being in a hospital ward.
We have all had to use our wonderful NHS service at some point in our lives and our local trusts have such a positive impact on so many families in the community.
As a local girl, it was important to me to raise awareness of the crucial service provided by the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust and to pay tribute to the tireless efforts of their staff for our community.
