I thought that they were great. I loved their passion and enthusiasm for TanCream and the product really wowed during its demonstration. It was really powerful but exactly the sort of product that you need to get across in a demonstration, which meant I immediately saw the potential success it could have on TV shopping which is right in my sweet spot.
So, what happened next? Well, within a few hours of the show I’d been on the phone to the CEO of Ideal Shopping Direct and explained to him what an awesome product this was and asked how soon could we get it on air.
We had the product on TV shopping channel, Ideal World, a few weeks of the pitch. In fact, it was before the series had even come to air! I had people from within my team work with them and coach them on how to do a great job on TV, and we assisted with negotiating the deal.
We’re now in talks with other shopping channels around the world to feature the product and looking at range extensions.
On a personal level, I loved the product when I saw it in the Den but I was comparing it to sun cream, which is why I made the comments on how expensive I thought it was at £45. However, I can honestly say that I’ve since been using it every day since the pitch and it’s an outstanding product.
One of the bits you didn’t see on air was that when I pushed them hard on the justification of the price, they explained that they’d used all high-end ingredients so as a product this is comparable to my high-end moisturising creams, which I pay in excess of £60 for an equivalent amount.
I use this every single day on my face as I know I should be using an SPF 30 or above and this has just a beautiful Sheen to it with the CC cream included and the instant bronzer and then the slow release self-tan. Another bonus was that the product soaks in lovely and I just love the feel of it on my skin.
